STUDENT PROJECT
An allergic reaction can happen anytime and anywhere. Yet, even with the severe risk to people's lives, many are too afraid of epinephrine injectors because of the violent stabbing motion of the needle. As a result, Epi Inject is a family of spring-loaded epinephrine injectors for public spaces and personal use that eliminates the stabbing motion and aims to help people use it whenever, wherever and confidently.
Epi Inject: Public
Epi Inject: Public focuses on public spaces and bringing more comfort to a secondary person administering the epinephrine to the allergy victim. This device considers personal space, an easily understood form, simple injecting mechanisms, and raising awareness about food allergies. It is designed to be wall mounted in spaces such as restaurants and schools, decreasing the possibility of having no medication at the time of an allergic reaction. Epi-Inject also includes audio instructions, refillable epinephrine cartridges, and a countdown timer to make the process of treating allergies clear, relieving the stress of uncertainty.
Epi Inject: Personal
Epi Inject: Personal focuses on portability and encouraging users to have an epinephrine injector with them at all times. This injector takes a smaller size and form and uses a carabiner cap to clip onto bags and keychains to ensure that it goes with its user everywhere. This one also include audio instructions, refillable epinephrine cartridges, and a countdown timer, so that the user can confidently get the medication they need in a critical time.
